Reasonless Seasons

Scorching heat of the sun

Paralyzing me like a stun gun

The very thought of a cool drink

Will vanish when I see her blink

And in the spring when I fight

With my brother for a kite

My heart will sink on seeing

Her longing to have a wing

A pink jerkin this season?

No, that had no reason

Since the biting winter chill in the morning

Told me she was even devoid of proper clothing

All that I could give her

Were a can of drink, a kite and a sweater

And when asked what the new year day meant to her

“A day with 3 meals” was her answer

Lions or jus lines?

The flag was flying high
Though no one to stop by

Neither did i miss the sides of the roads
Filled with banners of all modes

Workers roaring like lions
Were now settled in lines

I wondered where these people went
When called for a good event?

And all of a sudden everyone scattered
Even before their leader departed

I could not believe my eyes
But only then did i realize

That these were not the lions of the party
But were jus lines of poverty!

We learnt from the epics
The essence of Friendship
The Mahabharata depicts
The strength of its grip!

But the days have gone
And the nation is torn!

Centuries before
The Egyptian pharaoh
We lived galore
At the Mohanjodaro

But now we are ruined
'Fashion' is the new term coined

World believes
Changes have degraded the amazon
But what this leaves
Is that we have a billion more to amaze on!!!!

MOTHER EARTH look at your so(i)n

Alone he stood

At the corner of the hall

Longing for a glimpse

Behind the wall

It was not the fault

Of this ten year old

Nor the lords

To whom he was sold

That now he z standing here

Bare foot, sans shirt to wear

Not enough if

Mahatma calls in HARIJAN

Its time mother for u to

Look after your son!

(Dedicated to all children who are away from their family coz of drought!)

This nite am standing alone,

That very thing haunting me

God its not gone

Please listen to my plea

I cant bare

The droplets washing my torso

Feeling the clouds stare

And as if bound by a lasso

But little did I know

That when the lightning glowed

All the sins in a row

Had begun to flow

Off my mind

Off my body

Away they flow

There goes even my ego!!

I started to walk on the leaves the maple had shed

Clouds coming together like the newly wed

Wondering why the weaver's nest was asymmetric

Unable to spot the squirrel only hear the squeak

Blurred were even the images of the windmill

Even the banyan seemed to stand still

Yes, something was wrong with my sight

A world thro the spectacle was really bright!

Today my joy has no bounds

Am gonna got o LORDS the best of the grounds

Here are the two teams in black n blue!

Therez a man lacing his shoe

There goes the bowler in the best of forms

The ball moves away and is wide as per norms

The over z gotta end with 6 balls

coz o the wide its seven in all

Here z a guy to spin the next over

Hurray! The ball has gone over the cover

Oh where z the guy at gully?

Ah! I bet he was silly

He missed a couple o catches

U c, here catches win matches

Hey there is the gully now standing as a point!

God he has a bruised joint!

Look out thats a sixer

Uf cant get it better

A lotta straight n cover drives

Was tat a wicket??? No he still survives

This is a gud ball and the man plays it wrong

Thats his fate he z caught in the long

Here comes the other team to bowl!

To Win This is their goal

Hang on! Thats a sixer n the ball z gone

One o them get a century n the crowd turns on!

This is the ultimate moment of tension

One ball n one run

Last ball of the last over!

Goodness its all over!

The match is drawn and there z the departure!

But wait were i here jus for this from Manchester?

I ve had enough hurts, stamps and blows

N must go home with damaged claws

Though i kno a lot bout the wickets

I cannot play the game of cricket

Wonder who i am?

Just a CRICKET on a case of jam!

Oops! Someone z gonna stamp me, yup! Thought i lost ma breath!

Oh every time i come here its a game of life n death!
